Acclaim Games: Customer Service, Where Has it Gone?

I received a Beta Key as a “Prize” in a contest I entered. Yes, I was aware of what I was entering for. I got one of a limited number of Beta Keys, so I downloaded the game, and played for hours upon hours. So much so, that it would drive my wife a bit mad. But I enjoyed it. Because I felt I should give it a rest for a few days; I decided to play it some more. When I clicked the icon to open the game, it popped up a message telling me that the “Client Server is no longer Valid!”

It also had the usual :click here to download new client server. As soon as it was downloaded, the strangest thing started happening: Every executable file on my computer started up. I could not close them fast enough.. For every one I closed, 5 more would open. Then My anti virus program popped up telling me that a “Trojan-Proxy virus” was recognized as a potential threat, and was isolated. It asked my if I wanted to quarantine the virus. Upon answering yes, my anti virus software informed me that the file could not be quarantined so it would rename the file, and that I would need to delete the file manually. Upon trying to delete the file, which had the name “Succubus” attached with it. I was overwhelmed by the numerous empty files which started saving to my hard drive.

After about 6 hours of disinfecting my computer; Not only deleting files, but I Shred all of it’s files, as well as all those which were associated with it. I decided to contact Acclaim, via email. I figured at the very least the would email me back telling me something like, “We are very sorry you have experienced a problem with the 2MOONS game,” and that they would look into it.

Sound simple enough? Well it did to me as well. But, as you can tell by the fact that I am writing this; That is not even close to what they said! What did they say? Well, they said, “We have received A LOT of complaints on this issue. However, it is NOT a virus, but a ‘FALSE Positive!” I guess anyone would think, that was a good answer. Right? I didn’t think so! If you are anything like me, you too would see the Obvious FLAW in that statement! They stated they have received “A LOT” of complaints about this issue! Does that strike you as they are saying, “We know we have a problem, but we are telling you there is a problem, but it isn’t a problem!”

So: Does this seem the appropriate response to a complaint? Is this what Customer Service has become? It is a sad state of affairs when a company gets so big, that they can tell you that even though, they received “A Lot” of complaints, it’s not a problem? If you are a business owner, or even a manager; And you get a customer complaint: Do you think you should get the attitude of “You don’t like it, you can go somewhere else”? I really hope that the business owners of the United States, let alone the world, will decide enough is enough! And they will go back to the way is was, so very long ago. A time when businesses put the Customer First! I know that’s a lot to associate with just one problem, or issue. But think about it: Wouldn’t it be great if businesses started caring about their customers? Wouldn’t it be nice to know that your product or service was handled with care? Or that they cared enough to make a product that people want to come back for more?

Well, I say “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!” I say, it is fine time to start letting people know when they have a faulty product , or get bad service, which are now resolved by bandarqq online to provide the clients an effortless reach to their solutions regarding the problems they are facing day by day. If I had the money, i would start a web site, that people could go to to see how business such and such is doing. Or how bad the service was. Or maybe, just maybe, even the occasional good review. Wouldn’t you like to see people taking more pride in their work? Would you like to KNOW for sure that the hamburger you ate ten minutes ago isn’t going to kill you? Or that someone cared enough to refill your coffee, or do a good job fixing your car? Maybe i am asking too much! What do you think? If you have read this in it’s entirety, then I believe you too are fed up with it, and not going to take it any more! I hope that you tell 2 friends, and they tell 2 friends, and so on. And , to help this effort along; When you make, prepare, package, serve or fix, or deliver something , please remember that you are making doing it the best way you can! And if you are not sure how to do it, please find out the right way. Or, at the very least, ask yourself, “Is this how I want it done for me?”

Well, to let you know, I’m not all about the complaints. In my email to Acclaim, I even went so far as to tell them what I wanted to hear, “We are sorry you experienced this problem, we will do our best to correct or fix this problem!” and that would have been that! Rather than that, they got even more defensive by repeating the previous excuse of a “FALSE Positive”! they didn’t even check into it, because they were set on being defensive. Was the way the handled it correct? You decide!
